Valongo Initiative

The initiative aims to promote the Valongo Wharf Archaeological Site, the Little Africa territory, and cultural territories that preserve African memory and heritage.

Planned actions:

1. Strengthening the cultural institutions of Little Africa and structuring a network of institutions and territories representing African memory and heritage in the country (Viva Pequena África Call for Proposals);
2. Structuring the Little Africa Cultural District and developing instruments for the sustainability of the territory;

R$20 million from BNDES and partners will be invested over 3 years.
