Structural racism and everyday violence

Lasting one hour, the lecture addresses important aspects of understanding how racism is structured in the country and how it is transversal in the lives of all Brazilian citizens and institutions. It explores the most cruel indicators of violence, which are perpetrated by the Black population, and how cognitive biases lead to the naturalization of this social phenomenon. In this accessible lecture, we learn to recognize and acknowledge the existence of racism and how we can implement anti-racist actions in practice.

Methodology

The lecture is delivered in a very innovative way where participants interact directly with the discussion through elements such as music, videos, and dynamics that encourage participation and understanding of racial inequalities and indicators of violence affecting the Black population, and what we can do about it.
